About Rod Brown

After nearly 35 years in the commercial property industry, people often ask why Rod is still running Chase and remains so heavily involved in the market. The answer is simple: because Rod loves what he does, and it keeps him “sharp” giving him great satisfaction in assisting our many clients to build their commercial property portfolios, add value, and educate where he can.

As a licensed Auctioneer with two university degrees – one in Town Planning and another in Civil Engineering – along with a Diploma in Finance from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Rod is well versed in the many aspects of retail, industrial and commercial property development, sales and leasing. By leveraging his strong skills in Town Planning and Civil Engineering, with actual “on the ground” extensive agency experience since the early 1990s, Rod has been able to not only service and support the company’s many clients but also build a significant commercial property portfolio and asset base of circa $40M.

With a keen passion for all competitive sports, including Formula 1, Rod has learned what it takes to run and own a successful business. In recent years, this has resulted in Chase Commercial winning the REIQ “Best Commercial in Agency of the Year” award three years running – 2022, 2023 and 2024. 2025 will see the induction of Chase Commercial into the “REIQ Hall of Fame” making it the first commercial agency in Queensland to receive such an accolade. This achievement has been a team effort, and without the support of many great individuals within the business, it would never have been possible.

With a strong sense of loyalty to his wife Felicity and his two daughters, Rod continually guides and mentors those around him, supporting both personal and professional growth.

We engaged Chase Commercial to lease our commercial property in Wooloongabba.

Chase’s asset management team got involved and project managed a refurbishment of the property that significantly increased the presentation of the property.
